With paintings installed in three of the world’s tallest buildings, as well as other major works of architecture, Shan-Shan Sheng is truly an artist of great accomplishment. From the city where she was born, Shanghai, to an American city known for its great architecture, Chicago to the bi-cultural city of Hong Kong, Sheng is an artist whose universal message is appreciated around the world.

Shan-Shan Sheng grew up surviving the Cultural Revolution. In 1982, Shan-Shan Sheng came to the United States to pursue her academic and artistic interests by attending Mount Holyoke College and University of Massachusetts at Amherst., where she earned her Master of Fine Arts Degree, and went to Harvard University as an artist-in-residence for two years. Now she lives and works in San Francisco.

Shan-Shan Sheng has had over twenty-one-woman shows in Europe, Asia and America.  In 1989, she was an official artist for the Asian Art Festival in Chicago, and she was one of a hundred distinguished career women for the city of Chicago.  Her works appear in selected public collections including Harvard
